Search Engine Optimisation Manager

Visarc is recruiting for an experienced Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) Manager with a growth mindset to join a small but expanding Digital Marketing Team to work on a portfolio of high-profile accounts including several automotive brands. The role reports into the Head of Digital Marketing, salary is negotiable and subject to individual experience.


As SEO Manager, you will be expected to work both independently on your own projects and in tandem with the agencies digital marketing and web development teams. Key areas of focus will be:

  • Optimisation of websites managed directly by the agency and by third parties
  • Business development/client acquisition
  • Driving forward SEO best practices across the business and delivering educational material for use internally and externally


  • Manage the delivery of technical website audits
  • Complete keyword research
  • Conduct keyword gap analysis
  • Produce client content marketing plans and asset briefs
  • Manage content production processes
  • Run and audit link acquisition campaigns
  • Coordinate website migrations be it re-platforming or upgrading
  • Produce live dashboards in Google Data Studio, Google Sheets
  • Competently document, manage, and present all aspects of each clients SEO activities


  • Definition and build of new SEO processes which leverage automation
  • Optimise SEO sales collateral including activity forecasting
  • Lead client pitches/re-pitches (both the assets and presentation of the assets)
  • Plan and forecast campaigns and develop accurate quotations
  • Develop campaigns that support other channels such as paid search and paid social


  • Evangelise an SEO mindset across the business
  • Produce SEO specific assets that guide client content development processes
  • Develop the agencies content marketing plan emphasising SEO insights and best practices
  • Stay informed about the latest developments in SEO and bring new ideas to the table


To offer comprehensive SEO solutions for clients of various sizes it is vital that our agency automates the majority of research and reporting tasks. A keen interest in, or experience of the following would be an advantage:

  • Google Apps scripts (particularly interacting with the Google Sheets API)
  • SaaS ETLs such Supermetrics or
  • Applied SQL for Data analytics with Google BigQuery
  • Integrating cloud crawlers such as Deepcrawl into Google Apps based workflows


The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years SEO experience which has exposed them in a hands-on way to the full spectrum of the discipline. A mix of brand and agency experience would be an advantage.

On the job training will be provided; however, you will be expected to make an impact immediately and work independently. This role does not manage any direct reports, but as the team grows they may be added.

  • Expert understanding of data sources such as Google Analytics and Search Console
  • Advanced experience of desktop software such as Sitebulb and Screaming Frog
  • Advanced understanding of Google Tag Manager or similar
  • Advanced skills in Google Data Studio and Google Sheets or Excel
  • Advanced usage of PowerPoint or Google Slides
  • Confident using services such as SEM Rush, Majestic, Ahrefs
  • Previous experience using technical task management platforms such Jira
